Mai’åna Significance

Mai’åna is first and foremost our daughter’s Chamorro name. This company is her namesake. She was named, with the help of the elders on Saipan, to honor her Nåna who was a suruhåna (knowledgeable about plant properties and used them for healing) and mai’åna was used as åmot (medicine). This is a very special name to our family. When we thought about this company, we quickly decided we wanted to share the name and its meaning with even more people. When we think about this company’s mission to further bring healing and honor to all people, we are glad this is one small way Nåna’s legacy gets to be continued on.
